So BMW has finally added the M badge to the Gran Coupe and with it all the usual M upgrades. Firstly the exterior has been given the M treatment and for me personally this makes it the best looking 4 door coupes on the market at the moment. Especially in this deep purple colour. What are your thoughts? This or an RS7?
The looks aren’t the biggest upgrade, that has to be the performance and being an M car BMW hasn’t held back. Starting with the engine, the M8 uses the same engine found in the X5M it’s a 4.4l twin-turbo V8 with 441kw and 750nm of torque (Competition model bumps power to 460kw). This power can shift this svelte coupe to 100kmh in a mere 3.3 seconds. Drive is sent to all 4 wheels via the 8-speed Steptronic transmission, there is also a 2WD drive mode for those wanting to drift this Luxo-barge. In a nutshell, this is the 8 gran coupe turned up to 11!
On the inside, it is the luxurious place you would expect but with the additional M goodies spread throughout. The main feature would be the programmable M steering wheel buttons and the M specific driver display. Expect to see these flying past you on the highway in the near future.
