Porsche has announced it is adding a base model 911 to the current 8th generation range, the 911 Carrera. The new Carrera will be powered by 3.0l twin-turbo boxer 6 with an output of 283kw. 0-100kmh will be dispatched in a claimed 4.2 seconds with the optional Sport-Chrono package shaving a further 0.2 seconds off that. Main external differences will be the smaller wheels and brakes and different exhaust tips. Interior remains largely the same as the rest of the range. Both the Coupe and Cabriolet will be equipped with a new 8-speed dual-clutch transmission (PDK).
Those of you looking to getting into 911 ownership but don’t what second hand this is the lowest entry point but don’t think you are being short-changed this is still a thorough breed Porshe 911. I suspect the below Cabriolet version will be the top seller.
